Senior Pastor, Divine Mercy Church International, Lagos, Apostle Victor Oku, has predicted victory for Gov Hope Uzodimma in the November 11 off-cycle governorship election in Imo State. He also predicted that the APC would lose in Kogi State as the SDP would come out on top.
In this interview, the clergyman speaks on other issues including the Bayelsa gubernatorial election, which he said was clouded in darkness as it could be declared inconclusive.
What are your thoughts on the November 11 off-cycle governorship elections in Bayelsa, Kogi and Imo States?
Let me speak on what to expect in Imo State. God will disgrace self-styled witches and wizards who predicted that Hope Uzodimma would lose the November 11 governorship election. I see blood everywhere, but at the end, Gov Uzodimma will be re-elected. There will be problem and uprising before, during, and after the election, and in the midst of these crises, Uzodimma will be re-elected as governor of Imo State.
You speak of blood everywhere, will Uzodimma be elected peacefully or will he win through violence and intimidation?
It is the people’s vote that will get Uzodimma re-elected and not through manipulation of the results. It is a mere accusation to say Uzodimma is the one sponsoring insecurity in Imo State. It is because of the way Uzodimma won the governorship election that made certain people from certain parts of Imo State hate him without reasons. You don’t need to complain, but try to be close to the person because until you are close to somebody, you won’t know how good the person is. I’m not from Imo State, but through prayers, God has revealed to me that Uzodimma will retain the seat because he gas done well for the Imo people in the last four years.
The APC candidate in Kogi State, Usman Ododo, is from the same area with Gov Yahaya Bello, do you see this as a stumbling block to the APC’s victory?
I prayed and I saw the election characterised by violence and bloodshed. Even though Gov Bello has assured Nigerians and the people that the election would be violence free, I see blood everywhere. Yes, the people of the state are not happy with the APC for fielding Usman Ododo who is from the same area with Yahaya Bello as its candidate. Many people are not pleased with the way Bello is governing the state, hence, this will affect the chances of Ododo.
Meanwhile, I will tell the candidate of the PDP, Dino Melaye, to forget about being the next governor of Kogi because the people only pretend to like him. I see the candidate of the Social Democratic Party (SDP), Muritala Yakubu Ajaka, emerging winner in Kogi State. The mind of the people has shifted to that direction due to poor performance of Gov Bello. The people of Kogi State are tired of the APC and the PDP, and they want a fresh political party to govern them.
I’m a servant of God and I’m speaking what God said. God said that if the election is not manipulated, a fresh party will sweep the poll in Kogi State.
NEC has assured that the November governorship polls will be credible but you are saying it will not be; why?
In spite of the level of violence that will be instigated by certain persons and groups in an attempt to mar the elections, a true winner will emerge because God has spoken. God’s ways are different from man’s ways. When God picks anybody to be in a position, there is nothing any human being can do to thwart the will of God.
On what to expect in the Bayelsa State, I saw killing in Bayelsa State before, during, and after the governorship election. I saw brothers killing themselves because of who will be the governor of the state. And because of this, the election will be marred by violence. The election may not be conclusive, but God didn’t tell me specifically the person who will win, but I saw violence in a large scale
What is your advice to Tinubu on how to reduce the economic hardship that Nigerians are facing?
I repeat, President Bola Tinubu needs spiritual backup because what is redeemed is redeemed. Anybody who speaks concerning you has deeper information concerning you and he has solutions concerning you, hence, I’m ready to give Tinubu spiritual backup that will bring the desired solutions and reduce the hardship in the country. He needs serious spiritual backup that will sustain his tenure in office and that is where I come in. Even though his reign will be successful and prosperous, I see gang up against him, so that his administration won’t be fruitful. But, with a serious backup his government will be a memorable one.
