• Renews NITDA, NDPC’s MDs appointments

PRESIDENT Bola Tinubu
has removed the Execu-
tive Vice Chairman of the
Nigerian Communications
Commission (NCC), Prof
Umar Danbatta, in sweep-
ing changes that affected the
Postmaster General of the
Nigeria Postal Service (NI-
POST) and the CEO of Nige-
ria Communication Satellite
Limited (NigComSat).
According to the new ap-
pointments announced by
the Special Adviser to the
President (Media & Public-
ity), Ajuri Ngelale, Danbatta
is replaced by Aminu Maida
as the EVC/CEO of the NCC,
while Nkechi Egerton-Ide- hen was named the MD/
CEO of NIGCOCOMSAT to
take over the reigns of the
firm from Tukur Mohammed
Lawal Funtua.
At NIPOST, Tola Odeyemi
was named Postmaster Gen-
eral / CEO, to replace Sunday
Adepoju.
The President however
renewed the appointment
of Kashifu Inuwa Abdullahi,
as DG /CEO of the National
Information Technology De- velopment Agency (NITDA),
while the appointment of Dr.
Vincent Olatunji as National
Commissioner /CEO of the
Nigeria Data Protection Commission (NDPC) was re-
newed by the President.
Ngelale, in the statement
also disclosed that a Spe-
cial Adviser to the President
on Technology and Digital
Economy, Idris Alubankudi, has been appointed. “In line
with President Bola Tinubu’s
determination to maximally
leverage on Nigeria’s proven
technological and digital eco- nomic prowess to reposition
the nation’s economy toward greater financial inclusion,
the President has approved
the appointment of a new
Special Adviser to the Presi-
dent,” Ngelale said.
The appointments take
immediate effect.
