Founder and director of AmyAfrique Art Gallery, Okpara Amarachi, has successfully held her first solo art exhibition with Elixzyart.
AmyAfrique Art Gallery stands as a custodian of ever-changing tapestry, dedicated to preserving and showcasing the rich diversity of artistic world that spans cultures and eras.
According to Ms Okpara, the expo geared towards the significance of ‘Sands of Time’, invites Nigerians to contemplate the rich tapestry of history, connecting the threads of humanity to the present and inspiring us to forge a more harmonious future.
“It is an art exhibition that takes viewers on a captivating journey through the tapestry of human history, where each grain of sand represents a moment in time. This immersive experience explores the interplay of transportation, from ancient nomadic wanderers to the modern highways that connect civilizations. It unveils the strength and resilience of warriors who shaped the course of history and the birth and evolution of civilizations, each with its unique culture and values. Nigerians are responding now to art; people are getting to know, I think the non-fungible token NFT has actually helped us a lot, it helped people to understand art,” she declared.
As guests wandered through the exhibition held in Lagos, they encountered the tangible influence of money, symbolizing the economic foundations that have both united and divided societies. Amidst the artworks, the tender bond between mother and child is a recurring theme, reflecting the universal, timeless essence of this relationship.
Animals are celebrated as companions and symbols of power, intertwined with human civilization, while religion and spirituality take center stage, illustrating humanity’s quest for meaning and connection to the divine. The concept of marriage, a cornerstone of human society is depicted in various forms across different cultures and eras.
