The General Overseer of Omega Power Ministries (OPM), Chibuzor Gift Chinyere, has placed his retired domestic staff, Mrs. Esther Ogu, on life salary.
He has also made a presentation of N1 million to her in appreciation for her commitment to her responsibilities.
Chinyere made the presentation at his residence in Port Harcourt, Rivers State, on Wednesday, to the widow and a committed old member of Omega Power Ministries (OPM).
Daily Sun gathered that, Mrs Ogu worked as a cleaner in the official residence of Chinyere until last year, 2022, when the cleric, who is widely known for his humanitarian works, stopped her work due to her age.
Special Assistant (Special Duties) to the cleric, Mr Kenneth Nwachi, in a statement, said: “Apostle Chinyere considered her age. According to the man of God, it will not be too fair for her to continue to be working as a cleaner. Women of her age are supposed to be resting and relaxing.
“When Apostle Chinyere told her that her services would no longer be needed, she insisted that she wanted to continue to work.
“But, being a man of God with a heart of gold, Apostle Chinyere instructed the accounts department of his church to continue to pay her salary for life even as she has stopped working and gave her the sum of N1 million as the best domestic staff for 2023.
“Apostle Chinyere has been rewarding his staffers over the years. Some have been given mini estates with cars, while some were rewarded with landed properties and cash awards.”
