Born on Oct 9th, 1992, in Abia State, Nigeria, Peace Onuoha is a multi-talented individual—nollywood actress, model, and CEO/founder of LP Empire, an online Thrift store based in Asaba, Delta State, Nigeria.

She graduated from Girls High School in 2008 and obtained a Higher National Diploma in Banking and Finance from Imo State Polytechnic, Nigeria.

After completing her 1-year National Youth Service in Asaba, Delta State, Nigeria, Peace decided to pursue a career as an Actor in 2018. In 2019, she founded her own fashion brand, ‘LP Empire,’ specializing in contemporary women’s fashion. Notably, on 17th February 2022, Peace attended the Gucci love parade show in Dubai.

Our reporter recently caught it with Peace, and they discussed her career so far and what she is looking forward to in the future.

Who is Peace Onuoha and what makes you tick? What made you choose acting and movie production as a career?

-I am a go-getter whose goal to be a successful actor and entrepreneur is pushing to actualize her dreams. The daily struggle and sim to achieve my set goals is what makes me tick.

I chose acting as a career because it has been my biggest dream to see myself on the TV screen, feature with top stars in Nigeria, get the opportunity to explore and be creative as well.

How does it feel to be one of the top actresses in the Asaba Nollywood scene?

-I am proud of what I have achieved so far because it is a dream come true. I also feel excited at exploring what the future holds in store for me.

You are also a model and social media influencer. How does it feel to be seen as a role model amongst the younger ones?

– it’s an honor to have people who look up to me as their role model, it’s also motivates and drives me to be a better person all round.

Have you ever written any scripts or directed any movie?

– No, but I don’t rule that out in the future.

Who are some of the movie stars that you look up to both regionally and internationally?

– I look up to people like Genevieve Nnaji, Mercy Johnson, Taraji P. Henson, Gabrielle Union.

You are based in Asaba. What made you choose Asaba?

– Asaba is the center of Nollywood in the Eastern part of Nigeria, so I wanted to start small, garner momentum and then expand my reach beyond Asaba, Nigeria and Africa.

In the past year Netflix and Amazon prime have been commissioning a lot of Nigerian movies and content. What’s your take on the global recognition of Nollywood movies and Nigerian music?

– it gladdens my heart to see that Nollywood movies and Nigerian music are paving the way globally for the global recognition of Nigerians and the huge talent that abound in our country. I am glad to be able to do my own part no matter how little in making the Nation proud.

There is a lot of competition in the Nigerian and African movie industry and especially amongst female colleagues. Why do you think that happens?

– We all want recognition, fame and the spoils that come with it. Everyone wants to get to the top, so it’s a normal thing.

As a female actor, what are some of the challenges you face regarding your career?

– When my male colleagues look down on me or when people assume because I am a woman it’s easier for me. The bias from the male actors and even from my fellow women. Being given a difficult role to play.

How did you feel when you got your first movie role as a leading lady?

– felt on top of the world because it was the crowning of my hard work and efforts. In fact it was a dream come true.

Who are your top 5 Nigerian artists male/female?

– My top five Nigerian artists are Jay Melody, Tiwa Savage, Burna boy, Asake and Johnny Drille.

With your growing fame and popularity, I am sure you have a lot of people in your DMs trying to get with you, especially the guys. How do you cope with the attention from both your fans and stalkers?

– it’s a normal thing with every beautiful woman, be it a celebrity or non celebrity. I am a very calm person and I love all my fans.

What’s the most annoying thing a fan has ever said or done to you?

– I can’t think of any at this time, nothing I can recall.

Who are your influences?

– My parents, they are my role models.

What are you currently working on? Any plans to wear the director’s hat in the near future?

– I’m working towards producing my own movies. I am currently working on my win production outfit which I hope to launch officially in the coming months. No, I don’t have plans to direct at least not at the moment.

Who is your favorite artist at the moment and what are the top 3 songs in your playlist?

– Jay Melody is my favorite artist at the moment. The top three songs on my playlist are Nakupenda, Lonely at the Top & Believe me.

Where do you see your career in the next 3 years? If you have the chance, what advice will you give your younger self or other rising acts like yourself?

– In the next 3 years I see myself as one of the best actresses in Nollywood and hopefully at the top. I also hope to have made enough impact in the movie industry and also earned enough income to diversify.

My advice to upcomers is “Never give up on your dreams”.
