A group known as Kaka & Friends Foundation has awarded scholarship to beset behaved six pupils in Ezechima Primary School Onitsha, Anambra State for their good mannerism.
The winners were selected from primary one to primary six through the assessment of their teachers while another 13 pupils received consolation prizes of books and cash.
The foundation said it will pay for one year (three terms) school fees for the winners from primary one to primary five while the primary six winner received cash gift of N20, 000.
The winners are: primary one; Chiememma Ugwu, primary two; Amanda Ugwujike, primary three; Chibuike Okeke, primary four; Chinenye Okeke, primary five; Chidiebere Okezie and primary six; Chisom Awoke, they were given school bags and books.
The founder of the Foundation, Onyeka O. Nwamuoh said that they decided to sponsor the award due to the fact that many groups and organizations focused on academics awards leaving the core value which is good manners.
She said that in a world that often seems consumed by haste and self-interest, it would be essential to recognize those who exemplified the values of kindness, respect and thoughtfulness.
“The importance of manners in our society, manners are building blocks of respectful and harmonious interactions, fostering empathy, understanding, and cooperation. This event holds an even deeper significance as it coincides with the release of an outstanding literary creation, a book that serves as a guide to navigating the intricacies of etiquette and decorum.
“The book authored by me titled: 101 shapes of manners. This insightful publication delves into the subtiety of social conduct, offering invaluable wisdom and practical advice to early readers and preteens. It serves as a beacon, illuminating the path towards a more considerate and compassionate society.
“As we celebrate and honour the best behaved pupils, we are reminded of the power of manners to sharpen lives and instill values that transcend the classroom. Each recipient represents a shining example of integrity, empathy, and grace, inspiring their peers and embodying the principles espoused within the pages of 101 shapes of manners.
“We want applaud these outstanding pupils for their remarkable achievements and we express our gratitude to our hosting school, Ezechima Primary School Onistsha, my alma mater for their tireless dedication in promoting a culture of learning in character and in academics” Nwamuoh stated.
The Head Teacher of the School Mrs. Augustina Onwuli commended the gesture of the foundation, saying to they had visited the school before now where they paid some puilpls school fees.
“Kaka foundation surprised me they came the other time and paid some children’s school fees and today they are here again to lift the children. They are showing love to the school children and I pray God to bless them and replenish their purses.
“I advice other well spirited individuals, corporate organizations and rich people in the society to invest on indigent puilpls by given them scholarship. We have so many intelligent poor children that needed to be trained” she said.
One of the recipients Miss Chisom Awoke thanked the foundation for remembering the poor children in the school for their behaviours.
She said that the award will spur them to sustain the good mannerism, to be obident to their teachers, to their fellow puilpls and the society at large.
