Kano State Police Command has arrested over 94 suspected fake soldiers and Customs officers, armed robbers and kidnappers. Thirty arms and ammunition were recovered at various hideouts of the suspects.
Commissioner of Police, Mr Mohammed Usaini Gumel, said: “We were able to tackle the criminals from various places. The police will continually intensify drive for policing and other relevant engagements with concerted intelligence-led operations, aimed at enhancing peace and security.
“The operatives through intelligence gathering arrested 30 suspected armed robbers who specialised in breaking into housing and shops, particularly in Gwale LGA and Kurma Quarters in Kano.
“Also police operatives arrested 15 suspected kidnappers recovered 20 arms and ammunition in their different hideouts when operatives raided them.
“Police arrested 17 suspected illicit drug dealers during a raid of black spot in Nassarawa, Bagadawa Quarters, Kano. Indian hemp of 103 wraps and a half mud of dried leaves drugs suspected to be intoxicants were found in their possession.
“Operatives team of surveillance patrol arrested 15 suspected members of Yan Daba, all of Bayan Makaranta Quarters, Kano. Two fake Army personnel and ntwo suspected fraudsters were also arrested at Tudun Wada Quarters, Kano. Ten suspects are being held for murder cases case within Kano metropolis.”
