The Christian Association of Nigeria (CAN), yesterday,  called on Muslims fateful and Nigerians of other faith to embrace peace, unity, and love for one another.

The Association said it believed Nigeria can achieve its full potential if they put aside differences and work together to build a stronger, more united, and prosperous nation.

CAN President, Archbishop Daniel Okoh, in a statement, appreciated the values of sacrifice, love, and obedience that the occasion represents, and felicitated with Muslims on the occasion of the Eid-el-Kabir celebration.

He reiterate the commitment of CAN to promote religious harmony and peaceful coexistence among all Nigerians.

‘We believe that Nigeria is stronger when we all work together and respect each other’s faiths and beliefs. Once again, we wish our Muslim brothers and sisters a happy Eid-ul-Kabir celebration and pray that Almighty God will continue to bless our nation with peace, unity, and prosperity.”

Similarly, the Director-General of the National Institute for Legislative and Democratic Studies (NILDS), Professor Abubakar Sulaiman urged both Muslim faithful and Nigerians in general to pray for President Bola Tinubu’s administration to overcome the numerous challenges plaguing the country.

Additionally, he called on Muslims to embrace the values of sacrifice, love, and unity during their celebrations of Eid-el-Kabir.

Sulaiman emphasised the need for Nigerians, particularly Muslim celebrants, to utilise this period to pray to Allah for the restoration of the nation’s prosperity, ultimately providing relief for the suffering masses.

He regarded the celebration as an opportunity for all to learn essential lessons, such as selfless service to God and humanity, sacrifice, and sincere commitment to righteous conduct in both personal and public life.

Furthermore, he clarified that the significance of the celebration extends beyond mere festivities.

The National Orientation Agency (NOA) also called on the Muslim ummah to continue to pray for a united and prosperous nation in the spirit of renewed hope of the present administration.

In the message issued by its Director General, Dr. Garba Abari, NOA also urged them to imbibe the virtues of obedience, peace and sacrifice which the Eid- El Kabir signifies.

He also asked Muslims to use the celebration to seek divine wisdom for our leaders and those in the helm of affairs in the country.

According to the NOA Director General, “It is only with prayers, sacrifice and faith in God that any nation can peacefully navigate the challenges of nationhood as desired by all citizens”.

Abari, urged Nigerians to be vigilant of their immediate environment as they go about the Sallah celebration, stressing the importance of maintaining constant alertness at all times.
