The Managing Director/Editor-in-Chief,  The Sun Publishing Limited, Mr. Onuoha Ukeh, has been reelected into the executive of the Nigerian Guild of Editors (NGE).

Also, the editor of the Vanguard newspapers,  Mr. Eze Anaba, emerged as president of the NGE. In the NGE election conducted yesterday in Owerri, Imo State, Ukeh scored 215 votes to be elected as Standing Committee member for West. Also elected as Standing Committee member for West is Ms Rose Moses of the Nigerian Express, and Wole Shogunle of the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN). Ms Moses scored 203 votes, while Shogunle garnered 194 votes

To emerge as president of NGE, Anaba scored 250 votes to defeat Bolaji of Western Post, who scored 81 votes.

Mr. Sheddy Ozoene was elected Vice President  (East) with 204 votes. He defeated Mrs. Boma Nwuke, who scored 119 votes.

For the position of Social/Publicity, Mr. Charles Kalu polled 239 votes to defeat Mr. Ikpong Essien-Udom, who scored 80. Dr. Iyobosa Uwuigiaren was reelected Secretary General with 290 votes, against 40 votes scored by Mr Lanre Yetade.

Mr Dom Isute was elected Standing Committe member for East, with. 178 votes with Max Egere, who scored 164. Egere and Lawrence Mpama tied with 164 votes after which a “yes” and “no” pick determined the winner.

Others elected are, Deputy President – Hajia Husseina Bangshika; Vice President (North) – Umoru Ibrahim; Vice President (West) – Dr. Kabir Alabi; Asst. Gen. Secretary  – Gabriel Akinadewo; and Treasurer  – Steve Nwosu.

Mrs. Paulyn Ugbodaga of the AIT and Muhammad S. Jibrin were elected as Standing Committee (North) members.
