The Nigeria Olympic Committee (NOC) has received commendations from the International Table Tennis Federation (ITTF) for appointing Wahid Oshodi, the ITTF’s executive Vice President, as the chairman of its Ethics and Good Governance Commission.

Oshodi, who is responsible for Communications & Protocol, Governance, and World Ranking in the ITTF executive committee, was notified of his appointment through a letter from NOC President, Habu Gumel.

ITTF President Petra Sorling conveyed congratulations to Oshodi on his appointment and acknowledged his significant contributions to the ITTF since joining in 2021.

Sorling mentioned that the appointment recognised Oshodi’s wealth of experience and outstanding contributions to Nigerian sports and the international table tennis community.

The statement from ITTF, signed by Sorling, also reaffirmed their decision to assign Oshodi with the governance portfolio within the ITTF executive board in early 2022.

Oshodi, who also holds the position of Deputy President of ITTF Africa, expressed his gratitude for the commendation and described the appointment as an opportunity to take on more work and responsibilities.

In addition to Oshodi, the NOC appointed Olabanji Oladapo, a member of the ITTF Board of Directors and former secretary general of NOC, as the Chairman of the Liaison Commission.

The appointment of Oshodi and Oladapo by the NOC showcases the recognition of their expertise and contributions to Nigerian sports and the international table tennis community.
