A philanthropist from Kogi West, Olayinka Braimoh, has picked the governorship ticket of Action Alliance (AA) for the November 11 election in Kogi State.
Braimoh scored 102 votes to defeat his opponent, Simon Aku, who polled four votes.
Declaring Braimoh the winner of the primary election, the chairman of the party’s election committee, James Benebe, said that Braimoh, having scored the highest number of votes, was declared the winner of the primary election.
A contender, Silvester Ogwu, had earlier stepped down for Olayinka Braimoh.
In his acceptance speech, the AA candidate thanked the party leadership for the confidence reposed in him, adding that, the day marks the beginning of a new Kogi State.
According to him, his candidacy is a journey of job and wealth creation.
