Accreditation and voting is suspended in Akete ward of Donga local government area of Taraba State following attack and destruction of election materials by hoodlums.
Donga is the home of the APC governortorial candidate Senator Emmanuel Bwacha.
James Chimin, a resident who spoke to our Correspondent said that the heavily armed hoodlums stormed the Ward headquarters as early as 6:30am just when the INEC officials were about to move the election materials to various polling units and started shooting sporadically as officials and voters scamper for dear lives.
Akete Ward has Twenty Nine polling units and is considered one of the strongholds of Senator Bwacha.
Meanwhile, there is apparent voter apathy in parts of the state monitored by our Correspondent as most polling units are scantily populated as at the time of this report.
Some of the voters who spoke to our Correspondent in Wukari said that there are concerns about security of voters and a general lack of confidence in the electoral process.
