A Non Governmental Organisation (NGO), Justice Centre, has hailed the Federal High Court, Abuja, for dismissing a suit against the Governor, Central Bank of Nigeria ( CBN), Godwin Emefiele.
The coordinator of the group, Kingdom Okere, who spoke at a press briefing, in Abuja, commended the judiciary for standing firm in the face of alleged intimidation.
Okere noted that it is obvious that those after the CBN governor has no credible evidence against him, but were allegedly after him for political reasons.
He noted that otherwise, there was no reason ” President Muhammadu Buhari would not have been informed of such grave allegations of Terrorism Financing against the Central Bank Governor when the President was in the country and in the same city of Abuja the same date the Suit was filed.”
Recall that a coalition of lawyers, Civil Society Organisations, youth groups had,on Monday raised alarm about an alleged plot to frame-up the Governor of Emefiele for alleged terrorism financing.
According to t group under the aegies it Coalition of National Interest Defenders, said those behind the plot has allegedly filled a suit against the CBN boss before a Federal High Court, Abuja.
