Eight exceptional small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) in Nigeria’s event industry are raising the bar when it comes to delivering excellent customer service through innovation and professionalism in their brand offerings.

The event SMEs include: Stella Ifeoma Arome (Laurel Events Ltd), Adetomi Popoola (Ephrath Events), Elizabeth Obisanya (Elizabeth Events and Foods), and Oluwatosin Anyakorah (Mazeda Events).

Others are Rilwan Ayedun (JMB Entertainment), Abosede Enedeh (Abirikky Catering Services), Bolatito Giwa (IceDomain Limited) and the duo of Eunice and Ben Nnani (Becan Events).

In a statement, Coordinator and Project Director of the spotlight, initiated by Smartbrands Innovative Media Services, Mrs. Funke Padonu, said the SMEs shared insights on how they have built trusted brands, highlighting customer satisfaction, operational integrity, and adaptive service delivery as central to their growth and client retention.

“Each of these brands in their submission showed that they’ve demonstrated uniqueness in service delivery—in planning, décor, catering, rentals, entertainment among others.

The statement noted further that these event industry brands have distinguished themselves demonstrating professionalism rooted in transparency, creativity, and relationship-building.

An experienced event expert, Arome of Laurel Events Ltd noted that event professionals must prioritise structure, clear communication, and continuous learning to meet the evolving expectations of clients and maintain excellence across the board.

In similar vein, Popoola of Ephrath Events said, “To succeed in this space, event professionals must be reliable, deliver as promised, and maintain consistency regardless of the scale of the event or economic pressures.”

Obisanya of Elizabeth Events and Foods stressed that  transparency, especially in pricing and logistics, helps to build trust—a crucial component of long-term success for anyone in the event business.

Anyakorah of Mazeda Events emphasised that creativity, empathy, and honest guidance are essential traits for industry professionals, especially when managing client dreams within realistic budgets.

“Maintaining trust, honouring agreements, and never compromising on quality should be core principles for any event service provider looking to grow sustainably,” Ayedun of JMB Entertainment advised.

Enedeh of Abirikky Catering Services pointed out that resilience and fairness, even during economic downturns, are what define serious-minded professionals in the catering and event space.

Giwa of IceDomain Limited added in the statement that for service providers to gain lasting client confidence, transparency and ethical standards must be upheld at all times.
