Super Eagles have received a big boost ahead of the 2026 World Cup qualifier this month as defender Semi Ajayi returns to his English club West Brom this weekend.
The defender has been out of action since October due to injury and club coach Carlos Corberan has confirmed that Ajayi will likely return for the Hull City game on Saturday.
“If he ( Ajayi) completes the training session on Friday, he can be part of the matchday squad on Saturday.
“With Semi, we have one more option at centre-back and he was playing in the first XI at the start of the season”, he said.
Ajayi is among the players that coach Jose Peseiro will hand the invitation to prosecute the qualifiers against Lesotho and Zimbabwe.
“They both trained on Thursday with the group and they came through that fine.
