Borno State Government has initiated a plan to step up its Internally Generated Revenue (IGR) to help meet its target for the 2024 budget.

The Commissioner for Budget and Planning, Dr. Babagana Malumbe, at a press conference in Maiduguri, yesterday, said the state expected a rise in the local revenue because of the government’s sustained efforts in revenue collection.

“Local revenue collection is expected to rise as a result of sustenance and continued enforcement of payment of ground rent, and improvement of revenue generation up to 25 percent annually,” the Commissioner said.
