Chairman of the Senate Committee On Employment, Labour and Productivity and Senator representing Plateau Central, Diket Plang, has expressed optimism that the recently promulgated 2025 Appropriation Act will provide a turning point in the lives of f Nigerians.

He therefore urged  Nigerians to support the administration’s efforts, emphasising that their cooperation is crucial for the successful implementation of the 2025 budget.

Plang , who spoke in the wake of the signing of the ₦54.99 trillion  budget by President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, said that the event marked a significant milestone in the country’s fiscal policies.

Speaking with journalists in Jos home on Sunday, Plang hinged that the budget’s effective execution largely on public support and collaboration.

The lawmaker assured Nigerians that the budget prioritises critical sectors such as security, human capital, and infrastructure development, which will directly impact citizens’ lives.

“With the provisions in the 2025 budget, I believe we are on the right path as a country. This is an opportunity for Nigeria to push its development agenda forward.

“We are at a point where everyone should contribute to making Nigeria better, and I believe that with the support of every citizen, the 2025 budget will address the needs of all Nigerians,” the senator said.

He expressed optimism that with the budget’s alignment with the administration’s strategic priorities, particularly in advancing the Renewed Hope Agenda and achieving its developmental objectives, a new vista of hope is on the horizon for Nigerians.

He commended the President’s efforts in presenting a comprehensive budget that addresses key areas, including defence, infrastructure, health, and education.

The Plateau senator, who is who is also the Vice-Chairman on Committee on Federal Character,  highlighted the significance of the budget’s focus on human capital and infrastructure development, citing the allocation of funds for the construction of a six-lane road linking Akwanga, Jos, and Gombe, a route that has been in a state of disrepair for years.

He acknowledged the country’s challenges but expressed confidence in the administration’s ability to tackle them through strategic investments and policy implementation.

Plang also expressed optimism on the budget’s potential impact on his constituents,  assuring that allocations for critical sectors would have a positive trickle-down effect, improving the lives of Nigerians, including those in Plateau Central.

The lawmaker pledged to work closely with his colleagues in the National Assembly to ensure the effective implementation of the budget and its programmes.
